High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy, which is highly-targeted internal radiation, is one of the treatment types used for prostate cancer. The Allan Blair Cancer Centre in Regina is home to the Provincial Prostate HDR Brachytherapy program, and new HDR Brachytherapy equipment is urgently needed.

This September, in honour of prostate cancer awareness month, we are asking you to make a donation towards the replacement of HDR Brachytherapy equipment.

Did you know?

Prostate cancer is the #1 diagnosed cancer in men.

In Saskatchewan, it is estimated that 720 men will receive a prostate cancer diagnosis this year.

Early detection increases the survival rate of those diagnosed with prostate cancer. Visiting your doctor regularly and having annual physical exams, including blood work, are keys to early detection.

Robert Wick has learned how important it is to take care of his health. And now, he wants other men to make their health a priority, too.

You don’t have to face it alone.

Have you, or someone you know, recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer?

Prostate cancer support groups bring together people who are going through, or have already gone through, the experience of being diagnosed with prostate cancer, navigating the many treatment options, and managing side effects.

Breast cancer is the #1 diagnosed cancer in women.

In 2022, it is estimated that 760 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in Saskatchewan.

That’s more than 2 women hearing the words, “You have breast cancer”, every day.

These two women are not only breast cancer survivors, C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer Research Ambassadors and the founders of My Cancer Breastie, they are dedicated to supporting young women facing their own breast cancer diagnosis.
