Brayden Ottenbreit Close Cuts for Cancer

May 28, 2022

The Brayden Ottenbreit Close Cuts for Cancer head-shaving event started in 1998. It began when Brayden Ottenbreit, a young boy from Yorkton, was diagnosed with cancer before his fourth birthday. To support him, his dad Greg, his uncle Grant, and a group of friends decided to shave their heads.

Since then, and celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, this annual fundraiser has raised over $900,000 for local cancer initiatives. Over the last six years, more than $182,000 has gone towards research conducted by the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, right here in Saskatchewan.

Register today as a participant, set your fundraising goal then encourage your friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor you! Once you reach your goal; say goodbye and so long to your hair – all in support of cancer research in Saskatchewan!

After two years of virtual head shaves, we are excited to host an in-person head-shaving event!
